Rosie O’Donnell Show Opening, season 3's Description
 Kim Johnson designed the Rosie O’Donnell character, for the Rosie O’Donnell Show, season 1. Her character was consequently used for the other show openings, however, Kim had moved on to pursue other interests, so she no longer worked on these animate titles.
This would not be of any great consequence if it weren’t for the fact that the season 3 opening title, the one you are watching now, had won an Emmy Award for Best Title Design, in 1998. Due to the fact that Kim did not work on this particular show, the Emmy’s folks decided that she didn’t qualify for the award, for Best Title Design, even though her character (Kim’s own design and central figure in this spot) was used for this show. This was definitely a great injustice, although Kim never complained.
Sorry for the poor quality. I only had a 3rd or 4th generation VHS dub of this. |
